Former students of Pounpoumré Annex Primary School in Garoua have pledged to support learners with educational and didactic materials throughout their primary school journey. They made this promise at the launch ceremony of the association of former students of the school.

Over 40 years later, former students of Pounpoumré Annex Primary School reunited with joy and nostalgia. Old classmates shared jokes, classroom memories, and stories of impactful teachers. A founding member, Ibrahima Mamadou Bobbo, says they agreed to form an organization to support educational initiatives, during their meeting at the Garoua 2 Council conference hall “the primary goal of forming this association is to reunite. Through this reunion, we aim to rekindle the memories of our childhood. We also want to share ideas and perspectives that will enable us to support our younger brothers and children who are still studying at our former school, contributing to its growth and development” he explained.

The president elect Aissatou Mamadou Bobbo Epouse Malloum, says the association’s roadmap is clear. “Our goals for the year are to advance education and foster social development. My roadmap will be guided by solidarity and the unity of students. Together, we must work to elevate the standard of education across the Sahel region.” she explained. This alumni initiative highlights the lasting impact of education and the bonds formed.
