The Speaker of the National Assembly, Right Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, granted a farewell audience to the outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Wang Yingwu, in his office.
During their meeting, the Speaker and the Chinese diplomat reflected on the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and diplomatic relations between China and Cameroon. They engaged in an extensive discussion on upcoming projects, while reviewing key achievements such as the Glass House, home to the National Assembly, which stands as one of China’s most recent contributions to Cameroonian infrastructure.
The exchange also touched on the development of various sectors, including education, health, economy, and culture, with particular emphasis on enhancing parliamentary collaboration through Friendship Groups.
Expressing his appreciation for the warm hospitality and productive collaboration he experienced throughout his tenure, Ambassador Wang Yingwu stated:
“I came to bid farewell to the Right Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly and to express my gratitude for the welcome, hospitality, and cooperation I received during my stay in Cameroon. I am leaving, but I am proud to know that relations between our two countries remain strong and fruitful.”
Appointed in 2018 as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Cameroon, Wang Yingwu’s departure marks the conclusion of his dedicated diplomatic service in the country.
